Abstract:

The prose work written by Muhammed Abu‟l-Fazl Sincari was found in a mecmua registered in Süleymaniye Library Kadızade Mehmet Efendi Collection No. 550/4. The work consists of an introduction mentioning the virtues of Madinah, and five chapters, each of which introduces a different feature of city.The contents of the chapters are arranged on the basis of the hadiths regarding the Medinah. In the sources that give information about the faziletname type, only two different Kabename texts belonging to Sincari are mentioned, and the Madinah Faziletname is not included. The name of this risale is mentioned only in a doctoral dissertation on the translation and annotation tradition in the Classical Turkish Literature.The risale which has only one copy for the time being, is important in that it mentions only the Madinah, and contains more information about the city. In this study, a brief information was given about the reason why the Madinah was the subject of literary works, and about the faziletname type since the work is considered within the type of city faziletname. Finally, the features of content and language are focused, and the transcribed text of the risale was added to the article.
