Health behavior is a sum of activity related to the health, protection of health, and promotion of health. Main duty of nurses working in health services is to ensure health promotion by using health education. Nurses as a health educator must exhibit health-promoting lifestyle in order to be a good model. The purpose of this study were to compare the health promotion behaviors among the nursing students with different classes preparatory, first, second, and fourth classes and to find the impacts of nursing education on health promoting behaviors. The study was based on the Pender’s Health Promotion Model. The data were obtained by using Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile Scale. The validity and reliability of this scale’s Turkish translation has been tested previously by Esin. The study was conducted in Ege University Nursing School. Its subscales self actualization, health responsibility, exercise, nutrition, interpersonal support, stress management significantly differed among students with different classes. Nursing students with higher classes tend to practice more health-promoting behaviors. Nursing education have positive impact on the promotion of the healthrelated activities
