Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the STEM attitudes of high school students in terms of different variables. The research was designed in the general scan model and was revealed using single and relative scan techniques.For the collection of data in the study was used the "Fen, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Education Attitude Scale" by Yılmaz, Koyunkaya and Güzey (2017) adapted to the Turkish language and conducted validity and reliability studies. Research, a province located in the West Black Sea region 2018-2019 educational year has formed a 313th-school student working group. In addition to the data obtained to ensure the validity of the STEM attitude scale, the data set collected from 240 students is provided by application of Verifying Factor Analysis (DFA). Students' attitudes towards STEM; to determine whether they show significant differences, they have been used by the "standard deviation, arithmetic average,t-Test, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H-Test" tests to determine whether they show significant differences. According to the results obtained from the study data, the students’ attitudes towards STEM were generally positive. There is no difference in the kind of school that students learn. According to the number of books students read each month; according to the circumstances of taking part in projects; Mathematics, Science and Turkish courses have shown significant differences according to the average success rate.
