Çalışma, Esenler Sosyal Hizmet Merkezi Sosyal ve Ekonomik Destek Birimi’nden (SED) yardım alan 14 boşanmış kadının, boşanma süreçleri ve sonrasında yaşadıkları sorunların araştırılması ve bu sorunların neden-sonuçları hakkında geniş bir perspektiften tartışma yürütülebilmesi amacıyla nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Araştırma deseni olarak, katılımcının fenomeni yaşadığı gibi tanımlamasına ve böylece olgunun yapısını aktarmaya teşvik etmesi bakımından fenomenolojik araştırma deseni çalışmaya uygunluk göstermiştir. Derinlemesine görüşme yöntemiyle toplanan veriler sonucunda; evlilik süreci, boşanma süreci ve boşanma sonrası süreç, üç ana başlığı oluşturmuş ve bu ana başlıklar alt temalar ile desteklenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; kadınların çoğunun eşinden şiddet gördüğü, bu durumun kendilerinde de şiddet davranışına yol açtığı, buna rağmen haklarını bilmemelerinden veya çocuklarını mağdur etmek istememelerinden dolayı boşanmayı devamlı erteledikleri; boşanmaya karar verdiklerinde ise ailelerinden ve çevrelerinden ağırlıklı olarak olumsuz tepkiler gördükleri ve bu durumdan etkilendikleri tespit edilmiştir. Kadınların boşanma sonrasında toplumun yarattığı bu baskıdan dolayı kimi zaman boşandıkları gerçeğini gizlemeleri de, araştırmayla elde edilen bir diğer sonuçtur. Özetle, boşanmanın, özellikle toplumsal ve kültürel nedenlere dayalı olarak, boşanmış kadınları mutsuzluğa zorlayan birçok sosyal, ekonomik, psikolojik ve kültürel kısıtlamayı doğurduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.
The study was carried out using the quality research method for 14 divorced women who received assistance from the Social and Economic Support Unit of the Esenler Social Service Center (SED) to investigate the divorce processes and the problems they suffer after and to conduct a broad perspective of discussion about the causes and consequences of these problems. As a research model, the phenomenological research model has been suitable for the study in terms of the participant’s identification of the phenomenon as it is experienced and thus encouraging him to transfer the structure of the phenomenon. As a result of the data collected through the method of deep discussion; the marriage process, the divorce process and the post-divorce process, three main titles were formed and these main titles were supported by sub-themes. The study found that most women have experienced violence from their spouses, that this situation has led to a violent behavior in themselves, and that they have continuously delayed divorce because they do not know their rights or do not want to sacrifice their children, and that when they decide to divorce, they have seen majorly negative reactions from their families and their surroundings and have been affected by this situation. The fact that women sometimes hide the fact that they divorce because of this pressure created by society after the divorce is another conclusion achieved by the research. In short, it has been revealed that divorce, especially on the basis of social and cultural reasons, generates many social, economic, psychological and cultural constraints that force divorced women to misfortune.
The study employed qualitative research methods to study the experiences of 14 women who received assistance from the Esenler Social Service Center Social and Economic Support Unit (SED) while they underwent a divorce. This essay also explores problems that the women experienced afterwards and the various causes and effects of these problems. A phenomenological research approach was adopted in order to encourage participants to describe the phenomenon as they experienced it. By doing so, this study was able to accurately describe the structure of the phenomenon. According to our analysis of data collected through in-depth interviews, we identified three main topics: the marriage process, divorce process, and post-divorce process. These categories were further divided into subthemes. The research results demonstrate that the majority of divorced women were subjected to violence by their spouses. However, the women postponed divorce because they were unaware of their rights or did not want to negatively affect their children. However, when women decided to get divorced, their families and acquaintances reacted with overwhelmingly negative reactions, which affected the women. Our results also showed that women sometimes hid their divorces from others due to societal pressure. In summary, our study shows that divorce can place various social, economic, psychological, and cultural pressures on women, which can cause them to become unhappy.
