Abstract:

As an individual, women face many positive and negative traditional approaches while trying to exist themselves in society. These approaches relate to the "women's concept" in the myths from the past to the present. While women who are born guilty with their body, their thought, their creation, in the past have been able to overcome most of their problems by sheltering to feminism, today they can only open a hashtag in the new media platforms to allow their voices to be heard in every area. Most of the time the value attributed to the woman or the concept of femininity is cartoons in another field where women are reflected as a visual image only by specific patterns, such as the value attributed to the mother and wife in the daily life. Therefore, the cartoon discipline makes it possible for female characters to become an icon of popular culture by being objectivized. In this study, the animated cartoon application "Tomris: Women of the Dream Kingdom", created on the basis of the myth of "Amazon Women" in cultural stories, was discussed in the context of the Fourth Wave Feminism. Through the data and examples obtained in this scope, the research has been concluded with reference to the lack and recommendations in the field of women's work and cartoon in Turkey.
