Bu çalışmanın amacı "Yarışma Benlik Sunumu Envanteri (YBSE)"nin üniversiteli sporcularda geçerliğini ve güvenirliğini sınamaktır. Şarklı spor dallarından (Amerikan futbolu, atletizm, badminton, basketbol, bowling, dağcılık, dans, eskrim, futbol, güreş, hentbol, judo, karate, kayak, tenis, kürek, taekwondo, voleybol, yüzme) 108 kadın (Xyaş =21.51, Ss=2.38 yıl) ve 303 erkek (Xyaş =22.61, Ss=3.14 yıl) üniversiteli sporcu çalışmanın araştırma grubunu oluşturmuştur. YBSE, 4 alt ölçeği (mevcut performansa yönelik endişe, yetersiz görünme korkusu, diğerlerini etkileme çabası ve baskıyla başla çıkamama korkusu) olan 15 maddelik bir envanterdir. YBSE’de yer alan maddeler "Hiçbir zaman" ile "Her zaman" arasında değişen 4’lü ölçek üzerinde değerlendirilmektedir. Temel Bileşenler Faktör Analizi Varimaks dönüştürmesi sonucunda ortaya çıkan 3 faktör, 411 öğrenci için varyansın % 52.28’ini açıklamaktadır. Elde edilen faktör yükleri .54 ile .83 arasında değişmektedir. Tüm katılımcılar için Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayıları, Faktör 1 (yetersiz görünme korkusu ve diğerlerini etkileme çabası) için .79, Faktör 2 (baskıyla başla çıkamama korkusu) için .74 ve Faktör 3 (mevcut performansa yönelik endişe) için ise .70 olarak bulunmuştur. Madde alt boyut toplam korelasyon katsayıları ise .43 ile .56 arasında değişmektedir. Sonuç olarak, YBSE’nin Türkçe versiyonunun geçerlik ve güvenirliğinin yeterli düzeyde olduğu ve üniversiteli sporculara yönelik olarak araştırmalarda kullanılabilir olduğu söylenebilir.

The purpose of this study was to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Competitive Self-Presentation Concern Inventory (CSPCI). One hundred and eight female (Mage =21.51, SD =2.38 years) and 303 male collegiate athletes (Mage =22.61, SD =3.14 years) from different sport disciplines (American football, track and field, badminton, basketball, bowling, mountaineering, dance, fencing, soccer, wrestling, handball, judo, karate, skiing, tennis, rowing, taekwondo, volleyball, swimming) participated in this study. CSPCI is 15 items instrument which have şour subscales, namely concern over current form, fear of appearing incompetent, concern over others’ impressions, and fear of appearing unable to cope with pressure. Respondents of the CSPCI indicate the extent to which they agree with each statement on a four-point Likert scale, ranging from 1 (Not at all) to 4 (Very much). Principle Component Factor Analysis with Varimax rotation for testing validity of CSPCI supported 3 factors for 411 collegiate athletes. One item with low factor loading and low item-total correlation coefficient was excluded from the inventory. After item exclusion, the results of factor analysis revealed that 14 items of CSPCI explained 52.28 % of variance. The factor loadings of items were ranged from .55 to .83. To test the reliability of CSPCI, the Cronbach Alpha internal consistency was calculated. Internal consistency coeficients were .79, .74, and .70 for Factor 1 fear of appearing incompetent and concern over others’ impressions), Factor 2 (fear of appearing unable to cope with pressure), and Factor 3 (concern over current form), respectively. It can be concluded that CSPCI is a valid and reliable instrument for measuring competitive self presentational concerns of athletes.
