İnsanoğlunun anlam ve hakikat arayışı, onu sürekli bir sorgulamaya ve tenkide sevk etmiştir. Bu durum, insanın düşünen ve düşündükleriyle de eleştiriye mahkûm olan bir varlık olarak kabul edilmesini gerekli kılmaktadır. Tarih boyunca sıkça karşılaştığımız eleştiriler gerek insan gerekse insana “yolda olma” halini hatırlan felsefe için son derece doğal bir durumdur. Bu nedenle, felsefî alandaki en sert tartışmalar bile “yaratıcı bir yıkım” olarak nitelendirilmiştir. Söz konusu eleştiri ve tartışmalar, İslâm düşünce tarihinde yoğun bir şekilde karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Meşşâî ekolünün en büyük sistemci filozofu olan İbn Sînâ, felsefî görüşleri ile tenkit ve tartışmaların odak noktası olmuştur. İslâm dünyası özelinde, İbn Sînâ felsefesine yönelik eleştiriler söz konusu olduğunda, Gazzâlî ve bu alanda yazdığı “Tehâfütü'l-Felâsife” adlı eseri, hatırı sayılır bir üne sahiptir. Bunun yanında, nispeten daha az tanınan Şehristânî’nin Musâraʿatü’l-felâsife ve Nasîrüddîn Tûsî’nin Musâriʿu’l-Musâri adlı eserleri, İbn Sînâ felsefesine reddiye niteliğinde yapıtlar olarak karşımıza çıkmıştır.

Therefore, even the hardest discussions in the philosophical field have been called a "creative destruction". These criticisms and discussions are deeply faced with us in the Islamic thought history. Ibn Sina, the greatest systemic philosopher of the Meşâî ekol, has been the focus of his philosophical views and discussions. In the Islamic world in particular, when it comes to criticism of Ibn Sina’s philosophy, Gazzali and his work “Tehâfütü’l-Felâsife” in this field has a great reputation.
