Latifi’nin 1546 tarihli tezkiresi, Osmanlı nesir geleneğinde büyük önem taşımaktadır. Buna rağmen, 1546 tarihli tezkire metninin modern bir baskısı yoktur ve iki versiyon arasındaki farkları gösteren bir üslup incelemesi de bulunmamaktadır. Tezkirenin modern neşri eserin kapsamlı olarak gözden geçirilmiş ikinci (1575) versiyonunun metnine dayanmaktadır. Bugün eserin tenkitli neşri olarak bilinen çalışma, araştırmacılar tarafından, Latifi Tezkiresi’nin 1546 tarihli orijinal metniymiş gibi algılanmakta ve bu büyük yanılgı ile eser klasik Türk edebiyatının temel kaynakları içinde yerini almaktadır. Böylece, Latifi Tezkiresi’nin modern neşrine dayanan çok sayıda araştırma (makale, tez) kesin sonuçlara ulaşamamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, 1546 tarihli Latifi Tezkiresi’nin neşrinin oluşturulması önerileceği gibi 1546 ile 1575 tarihli yazmaların karşılaştırılması sağlanarak tezkire ve nesir geleneğine, diğer taraftan da üslup tarihine ışık tutulacaktır. Çalışma üç bölümden oluşacaktır. İlk bölümde Latifi Tezkiresi’nin yazmaları ile ilgili bilgi verilecektir. İkincisinde, 16. yüzyılda nesir geleneğinde meydana gelen yeni oluşumlardan bahsedildikten sonra bu oluşumların yazar olarak Latifi’yi, eser olarak da Latifi Tezkiresi’ni nasıl etkilediği değerlendirilecektir. Son bölümde, otuz yıl ara ile yazılan iki nüsha arasındaki derin farklılıkları ve bu tezkirelerin birer özgün metin olarak algılanması gerektiği iddiası örnekleriyle açıklanacaktır.
Latifi's 1546 thesis is of great importance in the tradition of the Ottoman generation. Nevertheless, the 1546 thesis text does not have a modern print, and there is no study of the differences between the two versions. The modern joy of Tezkiren is based on the text of the thoroughly reviewed second version (1575) of the work. Today the work, known as the pleasant joy of the work, is perceived by the researchers as the original text of the 1546 Latifi Tezkiresi, and with this great mistake the work takes its place in the basic sources of classical Turkish literature. Latifi’s Tezkere [Biographies of Poets], which first appeared in 1546, is of great importance within the Ottoman prose tradition. However, there is no modern edition for the text of 1546 tezkere, and there is no study of style development that shows the differences between the two versions. Today, the only modern edition is based on the text of the extensively revised second (1575) version. It is perceived both by the editor and many Ottomanist scholars as representing the 1546 original text of Latifi Tezkere and is referenced in work on Ottoman literature with no mention of the substantive paralogism this implies. As a result, much research (articles, dissertations) based on the Latifi Tezkere has not produced accurate results. In this article, a transcribed digital text of the 1546 Latifi Tezkere and comparisons with the text of the 1575 version, will shed light on the history of prose, style and the tezkere genre. The study will consist of three parts: Part 1, basic information about the history of the Latifi Tezkere; Part 2, an introduction to new developments in the 16th century Ottoman prose tradition and an evaluation of how these developments affected Latifi as a writer and the Latifi Tezkere as a biography; Part 3, will describe the profound differences between the two versions separated by thirty years, with examples and visual images and conclude with the argument that these two versions should be treated as two related but distinct and original texts.
