Abstract:

Abstract Taking into account the characteristics of Cuba as a developing country, with the high level of aging of its population, various aspects will be studied in this paper, which is the situation of the aging process in our country and specifically in La Ciudad de la Havana, through the sociodemographic profile of the elderly. On the other hand, the National Health System is in charge of providing health services for the Cuban population, and has specific programs for the care of certain sectors of the population, taking into account the characteristics of the accelerated aging process in the country, and the health conditions of the elderly, another issue to be addressed is related to some of the challenges that the National Health System must face in this regard.
