Abstract:

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between the levels of perception of organizational gossip and organizational trust of the teachers working in primary schools. The universe of the research consists of 928 women and 1.213 men, 2.141 teachers working in the centre of Adıyaman in 2018-2019 academic year. 530 teachers selected from this universe with the stratified sampling method constitute the sample of the study. In this study, Independent Sample T-Test, ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used. In addition, a correlation analysis was conducted for the relationship between organizational gossip levels and organizational trust levels. According to the results of the research, the organizational trust levels of the teachers are mostly in the range of "I agree". For organizational gossip, the perception levels of the “Organizational Harm” dimensions are in the range of “Mostly Agree” while the perception levels of the “Being Informed” and “Developing Relationships” dimensions are in the range of “Strongly Disagree”. Also, according to correlation relationship, there is an inverse relationship between teachers’ levels of perceiving organizational trust and perceiving organizational gossip.
