Abstract:

Literature covers people's feelings and thoughts, their attitudes and reactions to historical events and the emotions they arouse in them. For this reason, works are written on various subjects. Starting from the first materials related to literature, the concept of homeland is one of the most important issues addressed in the works of today's poets and writers. In Azerbaijani literature, which has an ancient history, there are examples of defence of homeland and instilling love for homeland in manis and proverbs, as well as works with this motif among the works written by poets and writers. Poems dedicated to the concept of homeland are predominant in the works of important names such as Almaz Ildırım, Ahmet Javad, Halil Rıza Ulutürk. Vahid Aziz, the representative of modern Azerbaijani literature, is one of the names whose works are mostly related to the homeland. Vahid Aziz, who protects his homeland by participating in wars against the occupation of his homeland, reflects his feelings towards his homeland in his art. We encounter the concepts of homeland and citizenship in most of the poems of the poet, who works on different subjects. In this article, V. Aziz's poems in which the concept of homeland is discussed, the feelings and thoughts in these poems are mentioned. As the sources of the study, the study was completed by scanning the poet's poems.
