Abstract:

In this study, the aim is to determine the legal conformity of primary school gardens according to the opinions of school managers. In this context, the legislation concerning school gardens has been examined based on the opinions of the school managers and the conformity of primary school gardens to the relevant legislation has been assessed. The research work group was formed by 59 school managers working in the Chankaya primary schools in the academic year 2017-2018. The research has used the quantum research method and the scan model. The views of school managers on the legislation, based on the TS 9518 standards and the Law on Occupational Health and Safety, are defined by the "School Managers' Opinion Survey on the Approval of Primary School Gardens"; the views of Primary School Teachers on the School Gardens; the "School Teachers' Opinion Survey on the Use of Primary School Gardens" form developed by the researcher on the basis of literature. In the analysis of data, the Statistical Package Program for Social Sciences 20 (IBM SPSS Statistics 20) was used. In the analysis of the data, it has been used visual statistics containing techniques such as percentage, frequency, arithmetic average. According to the study, there are some incompatibilities between the current conditions of the school gardens in the province of Chankaya and the school gardens contained in the legislation, and the school gardens remain insufficient in meeting the needs of students and teachers.
