Hz. Muhammed’in insanları İslâm’a davet etmeye başlamasıyla günden güne bu yeni dine inananların sayısı artmıştır. Bunun üzerine telaşa düşen müşrikler, İslâm’ın yayılışına engel olmak için her çeşit baskı ve işkence yöntemine başvurmaktan çekinmemiştir. Her şeye rağmen İslâm’ın yayılışını engelleyemeyen müşrikler daha tesirli metotlar uygulama arayışına girişmiş ve sonunda Hz. Muhammed’i öldürme kararı almıştır. Müşriklerin bu kararından haberdar olan Ebû Talib’in önderliğinde Hâşimoğulları ile Muttaliboğulları, Hz. Muhammed’i koruma noktasında anlaşmaya varmış ve o dönemde Şi’bu Ebî Tâlib denilen mahallede bir araya gelerek Hz. Muhammed’i müşriklere karşı koruma altına almıştır. Haşim ve Muttaliboğulları’nın Şi’bu Ebi Talib’e girişlerini nakleden ilk dönem kaynakları şi’b kavramının hangi anlamlarda kullanıldığı, Şi’bu Ebî Tâlib denilen bölgenin neresi olduğu noktasında tatminkâr bilgiler vermemiştir. Bu durum sonraki kaynaklar tarafından değişik yorumların yapılmasına sebep olmuş ve şi’b kavramının mahiyeti ile Şi’bu Ebî Tâlib denilen mahallin mekansal tespiti noktasında tarihi süreçte anlam kargaşası oluşmuştur. Bu makalede, şi’b kavramının anlam ve içeriği üzerinde durulmuş ve bu doğrultuda, kaynaklarda yer alan ilgili rivayetler analiz edilerek Şi’bu Ebî Tâlib’in mekansal tespiti yapılmıştır. Şi’b kavramının dere yatağı, küçük vadi ve mahalle anlamında kullanıldığı, Şi’bu Ebî Tâlib’in günümüzde Hz. Peygamber’in doğduğu evin yerinden başlayıp Cin Mescidi’ne kadar uzanan, mahalli ifade ettiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Though all the Muslims who could not prevent the spread of Islam entered into the search for the use of more accurate methods and eventually Hz. He decided to kill Muhammad. He is the one who gives the knowledge of his sons, and his sons, and his sons. Muhammad came to an agreement on the protection point and at that time he gathered in the neighborhood called Shi'bu Ebî Tâlib. Muhammad was protected against the Muslims. The first period sources that transmitted their entrances to the Shi'bu Ebi Talib of Hashim and Muttalibo son; the concept of the Shi'bu Ebi Talib was used in what meanings, did not give satisfactory information where the area called Shi'bu Ebi Talib is located. This situation has led to the making of different comments by the subsequent sources and has formed a meaning confusion in the historic process in the local detection point of the neighborhood called Shi'bu Ebî Tâlib. This article focuses on the meaning and content of the poem, and in this direction, the relevant rivayets contained in the sources were analyzed and the spatial detection of Shi'bu Ebî Tâlib was made. The concept of Shi'b is used in the meaning of the water bed, small valley and neighborhood, Shi'bu Ebî Tâlib is nowadays Hz. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was born in the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
