Abstract:

The authenticity and conveying the khabar (news) properly have an important place in the formation of the role model in Islam. Islamic scholars have developed hadith methodology discipline in order to establish a proper hadith narration method and determine the authenticity of hadith and Sunnah, which is regarded as the second source of Islam after Qur'an. The matn (text) and sanad (narrator chain) for statements of The Prophet (pbuh), his companions, and followers of the companions are analyzed comprehensively in terms of authenticity by means of hadith methodology and its sub-disciplines. The main purpose of hadith methodology is the narration of the hadith as heard by the narrator, which first necessitates the reconnoiter of the narrator from righteousness and memory perspectives. In hadith methodology, scientific customs and rulesets, which are required to be followed by hadith teachers and students, are considered as independent topics. In this way, scientific ethics are formed by issues on which hadith scholars should be sensitive in their private and social affairs, that span a wide scope from scientific tools to the purpose of education & training. In addition to authenticating the prophetic statements, hadith methodology considers all kinds of khabar as its topic. It is evident that hadith methodology contributes towards establishing the awareness of ethics for news and its authenticity is evident. For this reason, by taking the general criteria of hadith methodology into account, it is quite important to reshape the Islamic understanding of news in our world of thought and education system.
