Abstract:

Purpose: The research has been carried out in the identifying and relationship-seeking design to determine the nurses' emotional work behavior and influencing factors. Method: The sample of the study is formed by nurses working in 6 hospitals located in Istanbul or the European region, nurses who have completed the adaptation process in the institution (6 months or more) were taken and data from 504 nurses were collected. As a data collection tool in the study, a question form (21 questions) that defines the personal and professional characteristics of nurses was used with the "Emotional Employment Behavior Scale". Data, numbers, percentages, logistics regression are analyzed. Results: 91.9% of the nurses involved in the survey were women, 54% single, 65.1% without children; 48.4% were graduates, the average age of 29.86±6. 71 percent, 36.1 percent working in public hospitals, the average year of work in the institution is 6.68±6.61, 78.4 percent are servicing nurses, the nurses have received points from the lower dimension of high depth behavior (20.49±3.90), the lower dimension of depression (11.71±3.80). The result is that the nurses have a very deep and a little depression behavior, and the depth, which is the three subdimensions of the emotional work-behavior scale, has a significant relationship between the role-playing and depression behavior and the independent variables (personal-professional characteristics) (p<0.05).
