Abstract:

Logistics processes are of great importance for businesses to ensure profitability and gain competitive advantage over their competitors. Businesses that want to grow and have a say in the international market need to follow current developments, analyze the demands of customers and respond to this demand in the most appropriate way. When we look at the rapidly growing and promising sectors in the world, the halal sector draws attention. Although it primarily caters to the needs of Muslims, halal products and services are preferred by non-Muslims as they are healthy and clean. Purpose: The stages of halal products from the producer to the customer are explained with the concept of halal logistics. Malaysia is a country that draws attention with its studies and investments in the halal logistics sector. The contribution of Malaysia to the sector also sets an example for other countries. In Turkey, the development of both the halal sector and halal logistics activities is very new. For this reason, in this study, by comparing the activities in Malaysia and Turkey in terms of halal logistics, the points that Turkey needs to be developed are mentioned and it is aimed to emphasize the contribution potential of halal logistics processes to the Turkish economy. Method: In the study, an introduction to the subject was made, academic studies in Malaysia and Turkey were examined, and a holistic evaluation of the subject was made by comparing the studies in practice. Findings: The contribution of the halal sector to the economies of Malaysia and other leading countries in the sector has been determined. Turkey will be able to come to a good place in the sector by making the necessary investments before it is too late. Originality: The study differs in that it deals with the halal logistics industry in detail and compares it with the practices in Turkey.
