Amaç: Günümüzde artık turizm kavramı çeşitlilik göstermektedir. Bu çeşitlilik içerisinde kırsal turizm yer almaktadır. Destinasyonlara karşı değişen ziyaretçi tercihleri arasında daha sağlıklı, doğa ile iç içe ve doğal ürünlerin tüketilebileceği yerler yer almaktadır. Bu bağlamda kırsal alanlara yönelimin her geçen gün arttığı görülmektedir. Değişen dünyada alternatif turizm olarak nitelendirilen kırsal turizm kırsal kalkınmanın lokomotifi konumundadır. Aynı zamanda kırsal alanların kalkınmasında kırsal turizm yeni bir yaklaşım olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Kırsal turizm birbirinden farklı turizm çeşitlerini içermektedir. Bu kapsamda yer alan apiturizm ise kırsal turizm içindeki önemini her geçen gün artan bir şekilde hissettirmektedir. Bu aşamada apiturizm potansiyelini değerlendirebilen ülkeler kırsal turizm açısından avantajlı konuma gelebilecektir. Türkiye sahip olduğu kovan varlığı, arı ve arı ürünleri üretimi ile dünya arıcılık ekonomisinde önemli bir konumdadır. Bu özelliği ile apiturizmin uygulanabilirliği açısından önemli bir potansiyele sahiptir. Muğla ili arı ve arı ürünleri üretimi açısından Türkiye arıcılığında ilk sırada yer almaktadır. Bu bağlamda Muğla ili Türkiye’de apiturizmin merkezlerinden biri olabilme özelliklerine sahip durumdadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Muğla ilinin arıcılık potansiyelini çeşitli kriterler ile apiturizm açısından değerlendirmek ve Muğla ilinde apiturizmin geliştirilmesi ve sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanmasına yönelik yapılabilecek çalışmaları ortaya koymaktır. Tasarım/Metodoloji/Yaklaşım: Bu çalışmada ikincil verilerden faydalanılarak Muğla ili arıcılık potansiyeli apiturizm açısından kavramsal olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Kırsal kalkınmada kırsal turizmin ve kırsal turizm açısından ise apiturizmin önemli bir bileşen olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Apiturizmin arıcılığın yoğun olarak yapıldığı Muğla ilinin mevcut olan potansiyeli açısından uygulanıp değerlendirilebileceği belirlenmiştir. Özgünlük/Değer: Bu çalışma Muğla ilinde apiturizm potansiyelinin değerlendirilmesinin kırsal turizm ve kırsal kalkınma açısından göz ardı edilmemesi gerektiğini göstermesi açısından önem taşımaktadır.
Today, the concept of tourism is diversified. There is a variety of rural tourism. The visitors’ preferences that vary against the destinations include places where healthier, natural and indoor products can be consumed. In this context, the direction to rural areas is increasing every day. Rural tourism, called alternative tourism in the changing world, is the locomotive of rural development. In the development of rural areas, rural tourism is also considered a new approach. Rural tourism includes different varieties of tourism. In this context, apiturism feels its importance in rural tourism increasingly every day. In this phase, countries that can evaluate the apiturism potential will be able to get a favourable position in terms of rural tourism. Turkey possesses its coventry, bees and bees products, and is in an important position in the world’s agriculture economy. This feature has a significant potential in terms of apiturism applicability. It is the first place in the production of bees and bees in Turkey. In this context, Muğla or Turkey may have the characteristics of being one of the centers of apiturism. The objective of this study is to evaluate the potential of the Muğla province in terms of apiturism with various criteria and to reveal the work that can be done for the development and sustainability of apiturism in Muğla province. Design / Methodology / Approach: In this study, the use of secondary data has been evaluated in a conceptual manner from the point of view of apiturism. The findings: In rural development, rural tourism and rural tourism have been shown to be an important component of apiturism. It is determined that apiturism can be applied and evaluated in terms of the potential of the Muğla province where the purification is intense. Originality/Value: This study is important to show that the assessment of the apiturism potential in the province of Muğla should not be neglected in terms of rural tourism and rural development.

At the same time, rural tourism is considered as a new approach in the development of rural areas. Rural tourism includes different types of tourism. Apitourism, which is included in this context, makes its importance in rural tourism increasingly felt every day. At this stage, countries that can utilize the apitourism potential will be advantageous in terms of rural tourism. the presence of the sleeve with Turkey, with the production of bees and bee products beekeeping is an important position in the world economy. With this feature, it has an important potential in terms of applicability of apitourism. Muğla bees and bee products in terms of production is located in Turkey ranks first in beekeeping. In this context, Mugla province is the case with one of the centers may apitourism properties in Turkey. The aim of this study is to evaluate the beekeeping potential of Muğla province in terms of apiturism with various criteria and to reveal the studies that can be done for the development and sustainability of apitourism in Muğla province. In the study discussed, it was concluded that the preparation of an action plan for the evaluation of beekeeping potential in Muğla province in terms of apitourism could be an important roadmap. In addition, from this point of view, it is thought that the beekeeping potential of Muğla province will create an important added value in the development of apitourism and rural development. Design/Methodology/Approach: In this study, beekeeping potential of Muğla province was evaluated conceptually in terms of apitourism by using secondary data.
