Ebû Yûsuf Ya’kub b. İbrahim el-Ensârî (ö. 182/798) fıkıhın altın çağı denilen hicri ikinci asırda yaşamış, fıkıh ilminde derin iz bırakan ve yeni birçok fikhi gelişmeye öncülük eden fakih bir müctehiddir. Ebû Yûsuf’un kadılık yapmış olmasından dolayı etkisi çok büyüktür. Onun Hanefî mezhebindeki yerini tespit etmek çok önemlidir. Zira İmam-ı Azam Ebû Hanîfe’nin bize kadar gelen gerek fûr’u gerekse de fıkıh usulüyle ilgili tedvin ve telif ettiği eseri ulaşmış değildir. Ebu Hanife'nin görüşlerinin sonraki nesillere aktarılmasında ve Hanefi mezhebinin yayılmasında önde gelen isimler arasında Ebû Yûsuf sayılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Ebû Yûsuf’un fıkıhçılığı ortaya konulmaya çalışılacak ve mutlak müçtehid olup olmadığıyla ilgili ileri sürülen görüşlerin betimlenmesi ve değerlendirilmesi yapılmaya çalışılacaktır.
