Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to reveal the educational status of the academic staff in the Department of Gastronomy and Kitchen Arts. In accordance with this objective, the bachelor's, master's, doctoral training and titles of academic staff have been studied and. In the research, the image-qualitative scanning model, which is of quality research methods as data collection technique, was used. The data was obtained by scanning the websites where the information of the departments and academic staff. There are 243 academic staff in the Gastronomy and Kitchen Arts department within 40 institutions. Approximately 40% of these academic staff are doctors. The majority of the academic staff in the Department of Gastronomy and Cooking Arts has a degree in tourism. 96 of the 243 academic staff have been determined to have both a bachelor's and a doctor's degree in the tourism field. This identified number accounts for about 40% of the academic staff employed in the department. After the tourism field, it has been identified as the most educated academic staff in food engineering. It is determined that the staff who received food engineering training accounts for about 15% of the total academic staff. The conclusion has been that the fields of training of other academic staff working in the Gastronomy and Kitchen Arts program are quite diverse and different.
