Abstract:

“Atebetü’l-Hakayık”, which is considered within the works of Islamic period Turkish literature, was written in Karakhanid Turkish. The study advises people on ways to be moral under certain headings. Many literary works, written in Turkish since the period when it gave its first written records, have been examined by researchers in many studies both in terms of grammatical features and literary qualities. In present study, “Atebetü’l-Hakayık” has been discussed as a literary text in terms of its features. With the possibilities offered by text linguistics, the grammatical features of the referred study, which is examined with the coherence and consistency elements that determine the textuality criteria of a literary text, are attempted to be conveyed to the researchers analyizing the text in the subtext. Thus, the qualities of “Atebetü’l-Hakayık” in terms of textlinguistics were revealed.
