Abstract:

Bilgisayar teknolojilerinin gelişmesi ile bilgi sistemlerinin ihtiyaç duyduğu verilerin toplanması ve analizi günden güne değişik boyutlar kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışma, bilgi sistemleri ve bilgi teknolojileri ile ilgili kavramlara açıklık getirerek, yeryüzüne ait tüm verilerin koordinat sistemlerine göre saklandığı ve değişik analizlerin yapılabildiği yeni bir bilgisayar teknolojisi olan Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri’ni tanıtmakta ve bunların bilgi sistemleri içindeki yeri üzerinde durmaktadır. Harita altlıkları kullanılarak konuma bağlı olan ve olmayan veriler ilişkilendirip coğrafi ve sosyo-ekonomik analizler yapmak mümkün olmaktadır.
