Gifted Filmi Bağlamında Özel Yeteneklilere ve Eğitimlerine Genel Bir Bakış

Öz: Özel yetenek; zeka, yaratıcılık, sanat, liderlik, motivasyon ve/veya özel yetenek alanlarında bireyin yaşıtlarından daha yüksek düzeyde performans sergileme kapasitesidir. Özel yetenekli öğrencilerin keşfedilmesi ve gereksinim duydukları eğitim olanaklarının sunulması en başta eğitimde fırsat eşitliğinin bir gereğidir. Özel yetenekli çocukların keşfedilmesi için toplumsal farkındalığın geliştirilmesi ilk adım olarak görülmektedir. Sonrasında ise keşfedilen öğrencilerin tam ve eksiksiz eğitim olanakları ile desteklenebilmelerinin sağlanması gerekmektedir. Bu kapsamda zenginleştirilmiş, farklılaştırılmış birçok uygulama ve materyale ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. İşte bu noktada araştırmanın temel amacı; özel yetenekli öğrencilere yönelik toplumsal farkındalığın artırılıp keşfedilebilirliklerinin desteklenmesinde ve bu öğrencilerle çalışacak öğretmen ve uzmanların gelişiminde bir eğitim materyali olarak kullanılabilirliğinin değerlendirmesi için Gifted filminin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın yöntemi nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analizi olarak belirlenmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda filmde özel yeteneklilere ilişkin yansıttığı fiziksel, bilişsel, sosyal-duygusal özellikler, yaşadıkları sorunlar ve eğitimleri şeklinde beş tema oluşturulmuştur. Sonuç olarak, Gifted filminin özel yeteneklilerin eğitimine yönelik toplumsal farkındalık kazandırmak, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin keşfedilebiliriliklerini desteklemek, eğitim fırsatlarına dikkat çekmek üzere bir eğitim materyali olarak kullanılabilir olduğu görüşüne varılmıştır.

Abstract:

The ability to show performance at a higher level than the age of the individual in the fields of intelligence, creativity, art, leadership, motivation and/or special skills. The discovery of special talented students and the provision of the educational opportunities they need is, in the first place, a requirement for equal opportunities in education. The development of social awareness is seen as the first step for the discovery of special talented children. After that, it is necessary to ensure that the discovered students can be supported with full and complete educational possibilities. In this context, many enriched, differentiated applications and materials are needed. It is at this point that the main purpose of the research is to study the Gifted film to enhance and support the social awareness and discovernability of special talented students and to evaluate the availability as a educational material in the development of teachers and experts to work with these students. The method of research is defined as content analysis from the quality research methods. As a result of the analysis, five themes were created in the form of physical, cognitive, social and emotional characteristics, the problems and the training they experience. As a result, the Gifted film has come to the view that it can be used as a educational material to gain social awareness of the training of special talents, to support the discovernability of special talented students, to attract attention to educational opportunities.

Special ability; is the capacity of the individual to perform at a higher level than his peers in the areas of intelligence, creativity, art, leadership, motivation and / or special talent. Discovering specially talented students and providing the educational opportunities they need is primarily a requirement of equal opportunities in education. It is seen as the first step, developing social awareness for the discovery of gifted student who has special abilities. Then, it is necessary to ensure that the discovered students can be supported with full and complete educational opportunities. In this context, many enriched and differentiated applications and materials are needed. At this point, the main purpose of the research is; It is the study of Gifted film for the evaluation of the usability as a training material in increasing social awareness and supporting their discoverability and development of teachers and specialists who will work with gifted students. The method of the research was determined as content analysis, one of the qualitative research methods. As a result of the analyzes, five themes were created in the movie, namely the physical, cognitive, social-emotional features, problems they experienced and their education. As a result, it could concluded that Gifted film can be used as an educational material to for the education of teachers and specialist about gifteds, to discuss the characteristics of special talented students and to draw attention to educational opportunities. Also it is thought that it will be beneficial in order to increase the awareness of pre-service teachers and / or parents in order to support the development of special talent. Teachers and administrators can see their positive or negative methods in the characters in these films. They can be useful to students with learning difficulties in the classroom setting. Educators' perspectives can be positively affected. Film can be used to increase their professional motivation. The gadgets in movies can be an inspiration for them. They can gain insight into any problem that may arise at school. They can develop leadership behavior. Thus, they can create positive effects in the educational environment by arranging the education environment correctly.
