Kutadgu Bilig, Türk kültür tarihinin ilk eserlerinden biridir. O, sadece edebî değil, felsefi bağlam oluşturacak denli kavramsal zenginliği ve düşünsel çağrışımları olan bir eserdir. “Felsefi metin nedir?” sorusunun cevabı içinde rasyonaliteyi, sorun ortaya koymayı, tutarlığı, yeni kavramlar üretmeyi, gidimli (discursive) yaklaşımı, derinlikli ve etraflı düşünmeyi, felsefi tavra sahip olmayı, felsefe tarihi içinde bağlam oluşturmayı sayabiliriz. Sıraladığımız bu özelliklerin çoğu Kutadgu Bilig’de de görülebilir. O, öncelikle, “Gelip geçici bir niteliğe sahip olan kut’u devlet, toplum ve birey hayatı açısından kalıcı hâle getirebilmenin bir yolu ve imkânı var mıdır; bunda akıl ve bilginin katkısı ne olabilir?” temel sorusu etrafında pek çok alt soru ortaya koyar. “Kut”, “akıl”, “bilgi”, “erdem”, “devlet”, “adalet”, “liyakat”, “yönetim”, “mutluluk”, “dil”, “gerçek”, “hayat”, “ölüm” gibi felsefe tarihi içinde belirli yeri ve ağırlığı olan temalar eserin kavramsal yapısını oluşturur. Açıkça adını zikrettiği, kendisine atıfta bulunduğu filozoflar olmasa da ele aldığı konu ve kavramlarla felsefe tarihi içinde kendisinden önceki ve sonrakilerle bir bağlam oluşturduğunu, bir gelenek içinde yer aldığını söylemek güç değildir. Felsefi düşünceler, sadece kavramsal ve spekülatif çalışmalarda değil, edebiyat eserlerinde de ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu eserlerin betimsel ve imgesel nitelikte olan edebî dilinin, istenildiğinde felsefenin kavramsal diline çevirisi yapılabilir. Kutadgu Bilig’e gelindiğinde onun, bir hikâye üzerinden, yer yer kavramsal, yer yer betimsel ve imgesel bir dille felsefi ve pedagojik düzeyde, belirli bir sorun etrafında kavramsal bir yapı ortaya koyduğu, bu özelliği ile “felsefi metin” nitelemesini hak edecek özelliklere sahip olduğu söylenebilir. Kavramsallaştırma, felsefî bağlam oluşturacak şekilde varlık ve bilgi konusundan, modern felsefenin de gündeminde olan inanç ve ölüm sorununa kadar geniş bir alanda ortaya çıkar. Bu özelliği ile Kutadgu Bilig, Platon, Aristoteles, Farabî, İbn Haldun, Kınalızâde Ali, Locke, Rousseau, Kant, Wittgenstein, Heidegger üzerinden günümüze ulaşan, istenildiğinde daha da genişletilebilecek felsefî bir bağlam üzerinde bulunur. Siyaset, hukuk, ahlak, eğitim, din ve diğer varoluşsal konularda ihtiva ettiği düşünsel doku, onu pek çok özelliği yanında felsefi bir bağlamda değerlendirmeyi de gerekli kılar. “Felsefi bağlam” kavramından hareket eden bu makale, Kutadgu Bilig’in felsefe tarihi içindeki yerini kendisinden öncesi ve sonrası, temel kavram ve görüşleriyle araştırmayı ve bu konuda örnekler sunmayı amaçlar. Filozoflar ve felsefeler arasında görülen paralellik, hakikat arayışının farklı kültür, yer ve zamanlarda farklı veçheleriyle kendini göstermesi olarak değerlendirilebilir. Bu yönüyle yoldaş düşünceler ya da ikiz düşünceler olarak da adlandırılabilirler.
Kutadgu Bilig is one of the first works in the Turkish culture history. It is a work that has a sufficient conceptual wealth and intellectual calls to create not only literary, but also a philosophical context. “What is the philosophical text?” In the answer to the question, we can count on rationality, problem exposure, consistency, the production of new concepts, discursive approach, deep and surrounded thinking, having a philosophical attitude, creating context in the philosophy history. Most of these features we rank can also be seen in Kutadgu Bilig. He, first of all, asks, “Is there a way and possibility to bring the blessing of a temporary nature to a permanent state, society, and individual life; what is the contribution of mind and knowledge to this?” It raises many subjects around the basic question. Themes with a particular place and weight in the philosophical history, such as “cute”, “intelligence”, “knowledge”, “democracy”, “state”, “justness”, “legacy”, “management”, “happiness”, “language”, “reality”, “life”, “death”, form the conceptual structure of the work. It is not difficult to say that the philosophers he clearly mentioned his name, but not the philosophers he referred to, that the subjects and concepts he dealt with in the philosophy history formed a context with those before and after him, that he was in a tradition. Philosophical thoughts have appeared not only in conceptual and speculative studies, but also in literary works. The literary language of these works, which is of imaginary and imagistic nature, can be translated into the conceptual language of philosophy if desired. When it comes to Kutadgu Bilig, it can be said that he, through a story, has the characteristics that will deserve the title of "philosophical text" with this feature, that he has a philosophical and pedagogical structure around a particular problem, in a philosophical and imaginary language. Conceptualization occurs in a broad sphere, from the subject of existence and knowledge in a way that creates a philosophical context, to the issue of faith and death, which is also on the agenda of modern philosophy. With this characteristic, the Kutadgu Bilig, Platon, Aristotle, Farabî, Ibn Haldun, Künalızâde Ali, Locke, Rousseau, Kant, Wittgenstein, Heidegger is on a philosophical context that can be reached to the present day, which can be further expanded when desired. The intellectual texture that it contains in politics, law, morality, education, religion and other existential subjects makes it necessary to be assessed in a philosophical context, along with its many characteristics. This article, based on the concept of "philosophical context", aims to explore the place of Kutadgu Bilig in the philosophical history before and after, with its basic concepts and views and to present examples on this. The parallel between philosophers and philosophers can be regarded as the fact that the search for truth manifests itself in different cultures, places and times. In this regard, they can also be called companion thoughts or twins thoughts.
