The COVID-19 epidemic has affected the educational processes at the Kocaeli University School of Medicine as well as around the world. The availability of our university’s distance education infrastructure has played a key role in the lack of education. Our faculty courses are completed using the synchronized Zoom program. In the course of medical education, many applications were performed, all the knowledge skills and attitudes acquired to this period were transferred to real life, the inturn period was entered into the sector, which includes a set of practices and courses to be continued with remote access in this process, in which the Covid-19 program, asynchronous factual studies, online factual discussions, virtual patient application, cardiology, public health and pediatric synchronized courses and career days have been implemented. Medical Education AD, educational committees and management have taken an active role in receiving written and verbal feedback, provides close communication with students. At the end of this experience, it is unacceptable that remote education is a practice that supports the lessons and includes the entire medical education, but the use of e-learning platforms is now much more acceptable and common.
COVID-19 outbreak has affected the educational processes in the Faculty of Medicine at Kocaeli University as in the world. The availability of online education infrastructure has played an important role in the continuation of education. The lectures were completed by using Zoom program. The internship period in which the most clinical practices are applied during the Medical education and the knowledge are transferred to real life practices were interrupted in pandemic. So, an intern module was prepared and applied, including several applications as the Covid-19 program, non-synchronized case discussions, virtual patient application, synchronized cardiology, public health, pediatrics courses and career days. During the process, Medical Education Department, commissions, and management took active role. The communication with the students was provided closely by written and verbal feedback. As a result of this experience, distance education is not acceptable to cover all the medical education; however, e-learning platforms can be used.
