Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrencilerinin harita okuryazarlığı becerilerinin çeşitli değişkenlere göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Harita okuryazarlığı becerileri ile cinsiyet, sınıf ve okul türü değişkenleri arasında herhangi bir farklılığın oluşup oluşmadığı incelenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda araştırmanın evrenini oluşturan Antalya ili Alanya ilçesinde bulunan ve random olarak seçilen ortaokullarda öğrenim gören 6. 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin yer aldığı 375 kişiye harita becerilerini ölçmeye yönelik hazırlanan başarı testi uygulanmıştır. Söz konusu araştırma 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim dönemi içerisinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Başarı testi sonucunda elde edilen veriler SPSS 21 programı ile analiz edilmiş, ilgili analizlerde ise t-testi ve Anova analizleri yapılmıştır. Ortaya çıkan bulgulara göre özel okullarda eğitim gören öğrencilerin, devlet okullarında eğitim gören öğrencilere göre harita okuryazarlığı daha iyi bulunmuştur. 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin harita okuryazarlığı düzeyleri 6. sınıf öğrencilerden daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Kız öğrencilerin harita okuryazarlık düzeylerinin erkek öğrencilere göre daha yüksek çıktığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to study high school students' map writing skills according to a variety of variables. Map literature skills and gender, class and school type variables have been studied whether or not there is any difference. In this direction, the universe of research is located in Antalya or Alanya district and randomly selected secondary schools. The 7th and 8th grade students participated in a 375-person success test to measure their map skills. The study was conducted during the 2020-2021 educational period. The research has used a screening model. The results of the success test were analyzed with the SPSS 21 program, and the relevant analyses were conducted with the t-test and the Anova analysis. The findings reveal that students who are educated in private schools have better map reading than students who are educated in public schools. Students of 7th and 8th classes were found to have a higher level of map literature than students of 6th grade. The study concluded that girls’ map students’ level of literature was higher than men’s students.
