Abstract:

With the growth of the industry and industry, the human being looks at nature as a consumer material, parallel to the acceleration of the developments in science and technology, begins to shape nature according to his own desire, and establishes a ever-growing domination over nature. The increasing ecological problems, along with the negative consequences caused by industrial development, begin to become a global threat. The destruction in nature and the consequences of this destruction have a social, cultural, and economic negative impact on the life of all living beings. These effects generate the need to create ecological self and create ecological awareness. The efforts to create ecological consciousness begin to show themselves in fields such as biology, medicine, physics, zoology, sociology, anthropology, literature and cultural research, and studies in these fields are increasing on a daily basis. The method focused on creating ecological awareness in the field of literature is the theory of ecology. The eco-educational theory approaches literary texts with a natural-centric understanding, not human-centric. Oya Baydar’s novel “The Night of Dogs” (2019) is an ecological dystopy. In the study, the work will be studied in accordance with the principles of the ecologist method and the way the author deals with the nature-human relationship.

In the study, the mentioned text was examined in line with the principles of the eco-criticism theory and the way that the author handles the nature-human relationship was revealed.
