Çalışmanın amacı, sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının “Osmanlı tarihi dersi”ne ilişkin bakışlarının saptanmasıdır. Araştırma, 2023-2024 eğitim-öğretim yılında İç Anadolu Bölgesinde yer alan bir üniversitede eğitim gören 125 sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Öğretmen adaylarının algılarını belirlemek amacıyla “Osmanlı tarihi dersi, …. gibidir. Çünkü…” ifadesinin, katılımcılar tarafından tamamlanması istenmiştir. Veriler, içerik analizi yöntemiyle çözümlenmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Analiz sonucunda Osmanlı tarihi dersine ilişkin öğretmen adaylarının kullandığı metaforlar listelenmiş ve her metaforun kategorisi belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada “Osmanlı tarihi dersi”ne ilişkin 40 metafor, 5 kategori tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adayları Osmanlı Tarihi dersini; yol gösterici ve rehber olarak, birleştirici ve kapsayıcı olarak, bilgilendirici ve keşfedici olarak, zorlayıcı ve öznel olarak, vazgeçilmez ve dayanak olarak Osmanlı tarihi dersi olmak üzere beş kategoride 40 metafor ile tanımlamıştır. Öğretmen adayları, Osmanlı tarihi dersi için en çok “çınar ağacı”, “okyanus” ve “ansiklopedi” metaforlarını kullanmıştır.
The aim of the study is to determine the views of social studies teacher candidates regarding the "Ottoman history course". The research was conducted with 125 social studies teacher candidates studying at a university in the Central Anatolia Region in the 2023-2024 academic year. In order to determine the perceptions of teacher candidates, “Ottoman history course is like ..., because..." Participants were asked to complete the statement. The data were analyzed and interpreted using the content analysis method. As a result of the analysis, the metaphors used by prospective teachers regarding the Ottoman history course were listed and the category of each metaphor was determined. In the research, 40 metaphors and 5 categories related to "Ottoman history course" were identified. In the study, social studies teacher candidates took the Ottoman History course; He defined it with 40 metaphors in five categories: as guiding and guiding, as unifying and inclusive, as informative and exploratory, as challenging and subjective, and as the Ottoman history course as indispensable and supporting. Pre-service teachers mostly used the metaphors "plane tree", "ocean" and " encyclopedia" for the Ottoman history course.
