Abstract:

Health tourism as its subcomponents covers the topics "medical tourism", "thermal and spa-wellnes tourism" and "older and disabled tourism". The country’s tourism income has an important role in health tourism has led researchers to this area and in recent years the components have been studied with various aspects. These analyses generally focus on which sub-subjects, the author, reference and magazine reference network, keyword network, country and institution connection, the purpose of the study is to study. The Web of Sciences database for analysis has reached 494 articles scaned in the SSCI (Social Science Citation Index) reference index between 2000-2019. VOSviewer software has been used to reveal connections between the network map and nodes in the obtained data set. When we look at the network map, the most commonly used keyword "medical tourism", the most cited article in the reference joint reference network, Connell's (2006) work, the magazine's joint reference network's most reference field and connection power, the magazine "Tourism Menagement", the author was John Connell's most reference in the joint reference network. In the bibliographic matching analysis, Jeremy Snyder is led by the power and number of documents. Finally, the country and institution cooperation connectivity has been determined to be the highest country in the UK and the institution is the Sejong University. As a result, medical tourism has found a wide area of research, and the old and disabled tourism has gained the speed of research as a new area of development. The research on thermal and spa-wellnes tourism has also been found to be limited, so there is an empty space in the international area.
