As texts make up the basis for translation studies, the wish to understand the features they portray better is the result of the intricate interface betweenthe purpose and function of teaching translation. Similarly, the argumentthat the textuality of a translated text should be measured against its original requires a text of one language community should be translated asa text into the other. Therefore, a theoretical framework applicable to translation studies should be able to account for textual factors both in theoriginal and the target languages. As such, this study analyses the phenomenon of text, the building blocks of translation, through the prism ofconnective devices by employing a descriptive and relational model becausetext linguistics forms a functional background both for text production and comprehension
