Law 5718 concerning Private International Law and International Civil Procedure (the PIL Code) was enacted in 2007, replacing the previous PIL Code, Law 2675. Article 24 of Law 5718 deals with contracts in general, whereas specific types of contracts are regulated in specific articles, such as: contracts regarding real property (art. 25), consumer contracts (art. 26), contracts of employment (art. 27), intellectual property contracts (art. 28) and carriage contracts (art. 29). Employees are regarded as the weaker party in a relationship and therefore their position in an individual employment contract is safeguarded by a special rule. This paper will examine the applicable law to individual employment contracts under the new PIL Code. In this regard Article 27 will be analyzed in detail
