Tasavvuf müesseseleri olan tekkelerin ilk kuruldukları andan itibaren ictimâî, iktisadî, siyâsî, askerî ve güzel sanatlar alanlarında pek çok fonksiyon icra ettiği bilinmektedir. Özellikle ictimâî sahada sûfiler çeşitli hizmetlerde bulunmuş, toplumun hemen her kesimine ulaşarak bulundukları mekânları adeta birer çekim merkezi haline getirmişlerdir. Tasavvufun temel gayesi olan “insan” yetiştirme ve onu kemal noktasına ulaştırma çabası, gerek eğitimcilerin gerek psikoloji ile ilgilenenlerin gerekse sosyal bilimcilerin dikkatini çekmiş, özellikle son yıllarda tasavvufun bu yönünü ele alan çalışmalar daha çok gündeme gelmeye başlamıştır. Sosyal Bilimci Ali Seyyar da tasavvufun sosyal hizmet yönünü ele alan bir eser kaleme alarak bir anlamda sosyal hizmet kavramına tasavvuf açısından bakmaya çalışmıştır.
It is known that from the first moment of the establishment of the texts that are Tasavvuf institutions, many functions have been performed in the fields of economic, political, military and beautiful arts. In particular, in the field of execution, the savings were found in various services, and they reached almost every section of the community and made the places they were in a single drawing center. The main objective of Tasavvuf’s “human” education and the effort to bring it to the point of the chemistry has attracted the attention of social scientists, especially those who are interested in psychology, especially in recent years, the studies on this aspect of Tasavvuf have begun to come more on the agenda. Social scientist Ali Seyyar has also tried to look at the concept of social service from the point of view of tasavvuf by taking a work on the social service direction of tasavvuf.
