The word design is derived from the word design and is the first stage of thinking and planning on a subject. It is possible to see design in everything around us. It is possible to see the design element in everything created in nature or every time the human being produces it. Design is one of the first stages in the formation of the manufactured product and depicts everything deeply. Thus, the design is an integral part of everything that exists in every product produced. Though the design work has changed according to lifestyle and technology over the years, it has always retained its continuity. The design can be done through certain principles and objects. Design objects represent the rules used in the design work. Design items contain a set of elements presented to ensure balance in design. These elements are point, line, form-form, tissue, color and valor. The balanced use of these elements can make the design aesthetic and functional. Design objects are in fact information transfer created to capture aesthetics in the design. This study has been conducted on how design objects are used in clothing designs. The subject of the study is planned to study the clothes in the collections of the Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake in terms of design items. In the fashion world, Issey Miyake, one of Japanese fashion designers as the first recognized identity from the West, has gained international reputation in the fashion world of Paris with its national culture and values as a whole, more than its individuality. In the study, 1 clothes were selected each year by the judicial sampling method from the collections that Issey Miyake prepared between 1980 and 1985, and clothes were examined in terms of design objects. It is also intended to refer to the factors that shaped the fashion in those periods and the designs of the fashion designer mentioned. In this direction, a review form was created to review the clothes in the collection. In the review form; line, form-form, fabric and color-value design items were included and clothes were studied in this context. The findings from the research found that the Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake designed the clothes without the effort to fit the body shape, which provides the possibility of comfortable movement, usually made up of a single color and adopted the asymmetric line, and that the designer also designed their clothes with the conception of the design shaped not according to the body, but according to the fabric shape.

There is an element of design in everything created in nature or everything manmade. The design is one of the first steps in the formation of the product and it deeply influences everything. Therefore, design is an integral part of everything that is produced and that is existed. Although the manner of design has changed over the time according to the lifestyles and technologies, it has always kept its continuity. The design is about applying certain principles and elements. The design elements refer to the rules used in the work of design. Design elements include a number of elements that are set forth for ensuring the balance in design. These elements are point, line, form-shape, texture, color, and value. Balanced use of these elements can render design aesthetic and functional. Design elements are actually the transfer of information created to capture aesthetics in design. In this research, it was analyzed how design elements are used in clothing designs. The subject of this research has been planned as examination of in terms of design elements of the Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake. In the fashion world, Issey Miyake who is the one of the Japanese fashion designers as the first identity outside the West, as he presented his national culture and values as a whole rather than his own individuality, he achieved Paris's international reputation in the fashion world. In this research, it is aimed to examine the clothes of Issey Miyake in the collections prepared between 1980 and 1985 to ensure that clothing is examined in terms of design elements and the mention the factors that shape fashion and the designs of the fashion designer. In order to examine the clothes in the collection, an examination form has been created and filled. In the examination form; line, form-form, texture and color-value design elements are included and the garments are examined in this context. According to the findings obtained from the research, Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake made designs without any effort to fit any body form, also made it possible to make a comfortable movement, usually made of a single color and adopted an asymmetrical line. In addition, it is seen that the designer designed the clothes with his design concept which is shaped according to the fabric form and not according to the body.
