Hayranlık duyulan, taklit edilen, yükseltilen ve yaygınlaştırılan modayı, üslup, tarz ve stil olarak on sekizinci yüzyıldan beri hayatımızda var olan bir kavram olarak görmekteyiz. İlk defa Fransızca üslup anlamına gelen “façon” sözcüğünün karşılığı olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Kumaş, renk, dekorasyon, motif gibi kavramların beğeniler üzerinden yükseltilmesi ve sonrasında yaygınlaştırılması, modanın kuruluş yıllarına denk gelen dönemlerinin en bilindik konuları arasındadır. Günümüzde moda, genel olarak giysi yaratıcılığının kreasyonlara/koleksiyonlara yansıtıldığı tasarımsal süreçlerin hâkimiyetine işaret eden bir olgu haline gelmiştir (Waquet ve Laporte, 2011). Bu durumu, modanın tasarımla kurduğu bağının giderek güçlenmesi sonucuna bağlayabiliriz. Tasarım, tasarımlananının zihinde canlandırılması ile meydana getirilen biçimlendirmelerdir. Burada biçimden kasıt moda tasarımında oluşturulan giysi formlarıdır. En genel tanımıyla form; bir nesnenin/objenin dış sınırlarını belirlemektir. (“… başka bir deyişle, sanatsal çalışmalarda yapılan iki veya üç boyutlu uygulamaları düzenlemek amacıyla kullanılan tekniklerin bütünüdür”) (Ertok Atmaca, 2014: 51). Deformasyon ise her hangi bir tasarımın, tasarımsal süreçlerinde, tasarımcının klasik ya da geleneksel olanın dışında sınırlarını aşması, tasarımı oluştururken tasarımı farklı formlarla sergilemesini ifade eder. Tasarımda yaratılan bu biçimsizleşme/biçimsizleştirme işlemi, formun bozulması ya da genel yapısından sapması ile formun değişmesi anlamına gelir. Deforme olmuş bir tasarım; özgün biçiminden başkalaşmaya uğramış; biçimini, formunu değiştirmiş, özünden sapmış olma özellikleri ile dikkat çeker. Moda tasarımında deformasyon işlemi, yeni formlar tasarlama; tasarımın siluet yapısını bozma, tasarımda kullanılan unsurları yeni ve farklı bağdaştırmalarla kullanma gibi klasik ya da geleneksel form kalıplarının dışına çıkarak alışılmadık, aykırı ve şaşırtıcı tasarımsal formlar yaratma olarak değerlendirilebilir. Araştırma da; moda tasarımında kullanılan deformasyon işlemi tasarımsal bağlamda incelenmiş, incelemeye konu olan deformasyon işlemin de moda tasarımcı Alexander Mcqueen örneklemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularından çıkan en önemli sonucu; moda tasarımında son zamanlarda sıklıkla kullanılan tasarımda deformasyon işlemi, tasarımın genel formunda/siluetinde, oran ve hatlarında ileri düzeyde yapılan değişimler, farklılıklar ve başkalaşmaları gösteren bir sanat tasarım uygulamasıdır.
We see the admired, imitated, upgraded and spread fashion, style, style and style as a concept that has existed in our lives since the eighteenth century. It was the first time that the word “façon” appeared in French as a reward for the word “fason”. The upgrading and dissemination of concepts such as fabric, colour, decoration, motivation through favourites is one of the most well-known topics of the periods of fashion that correspond to the founding years. Nowadays, fashion has become a phenomenon that indicates the dominance of design processes in which generally clothing creativity is reflected in creations/collections (Waquet and Laporte, 2011). This situation can be linked to the result of the increasing connection the fashion has established with the design. Design is the formations created by revitalization in the mind of the designer. Here are the forms of clothes created in the design of fashion. The most general definition of the form is the determination of the external boundaries of an object/object. "... in other words, it is the whole of the techniques used to regulate the two-dimensional or three-dimensional practices performed in artwork" (Ertok Atmaca, 2014: 51). Deformation means that any design, in its design processes, exceeds its boundaries beyond the classical or traditional, while creating the design, represents the design in different forms. This deformation/deformation process created in the design means the deformation of the form or deviation from its general structure and the change of the form. A deformed design, which has been distorted from its original form, draws attention to its shape, shape, and its characteristics of being distorted from its essence. The deformation process in fashion design can be considered as the creation of unusual, contradictory and surprising design forms, such as distorting the silhouette structure of the design, using the elements used in design with new and different adaptations, excepting the classic or traditional form patterns. The research also; the deformation process used in fashion design was studied in the design context, the deformation process was also studied by fashion designer Alexander Mcqueen. The most important result from the findings of the research is the deformation process in the design, which is often used in fashion design in recent times, an art design application that shows advanced changes, differences and mutations in the general form/solution of the design, proportions and lines.

The deformation that emerged with this approach has enabled the use of clothing design elements with new and different associations and thus contrary-surprising-admirable clothes to emerge. In the scope of the study, deformation used in clothing designs; Illustrated on Alexander McQueen clothing designs. In this context, some clothes belonging to the artist; What kind of content it is given in artistic sense and how the design elements are associated with form-silhouette-structure and material are explained through tables, drawings and visuals.
