Okul ortamlarında sorunları saptamakla çözüme doğru atılan adımların ilkini gerçekleştirmiş olmak bir şey, çözümlere ulaşabilmek başka bir şeydir. Bu bağlamda araştırma, ortaöğretimdeki öğrencinin akademik başarısını geliştirmek ve sosyalleşmesini sağlamak için eğitimin tüm paydaşlarla birlikte çözümler üretmesine ve çözüm süreçlerini takip etmesine dikkat çekmektedir. Aynı zamanda okullarda karşılaşılan biyopsikososyal ve manevi sorunların çözümüne yönelik önleme faaliyetlerinin gerçekleştirilmesi ve gerekli politikaların geliştirilmesi ihtiyacını ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Bu ihtiyacın giderilmesi, çocuk refahının sağlanması ve sürdürülmesi noktasında okul sosyal hizmetinin önemi ortaya koymaktadır.
Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, yönetici, öğretmen ve rehber öğretmenlerin sosyal hizmet kavramına ilişkin algılarını belirlemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu durum örneklemesi yoluyla 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında kamuya ait ortaöğretimde görev yapan 10 yönetici, 10 öğretmen ve 10 rehber öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada daha fazla irdelemek ve zengin bilgi çeşitliliğine ulaşabilmek için nitel araştırma sürecinde görüşme yöntemine başvurulmuştur. Nitel veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla toplanılmış, analizinde Nvivo 12 programı kullanılmıştır. Nitel verilerin analizinde betimsel ve içerik analiz tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda yönetici, öğretmen ve rehber öğretmenlerin sosyal hizmet mesleği hakkında bilgilerinin yetersiz, bununla birlikte sosyal hizmete yönelik görüşlerinin olumlu olduğu ve okul sosyal hizmetine duyulan ihtiyacın “yüksek” düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur. Sürekli iyileşmeyi ve gelişmeyi sağlayacak çalışma perspektifinin genel felsefesinin üzerinde yapılmış olan araştırma sonuçları ışığında, okul sosyal hizmetini işlevsel hale getirmek için ortaöğretim kurumlarında okul sosyal hizmet birimlerinin kurulması ve sosyal çalışmacıların bu birimlerde ivedilikle istihdam edilmesi önerilmektedir.
Being the first step towards the solution by identifying problems in the school environment is one thing, being able to reach solutions is another thing. In this context, the research points out that education, together with all stakeholders, produces solutions and follows solutions processes to improve and ensure the student’s academic success in high school. The main purpose of this research is to determine the perceptions of managers, teachers and guides teachers about the concept of social service. The study’s work group consists of 10 managers, 10 teachers and 10 guided teachers who work in public secondary education in the 2019-2020 educational year through the situation sample. The method of consultation in the quality research process has been applied to more research and to reach the rich diversity of information. Qualitative data collected in a semi-configured interview form, the analysis used the Nvivo 12 program. Qualitative data analysis has been used by visual and content analysis techniques. The results of the analyses found that managers, teachers and guides have insufficient knowledge about the social service profession, but their views on social service are positive and the need for school social service is at a "high" level. In light of the research results conducted on the general philosophy of the work perspective that will ensure continuous improvement and development, it is recommended that the establishment of school social services units in the secondary education institutions to make school social services functional and that social workers are employed in these units.
It is one thing to realize the first steps taken towards a solution by identifying problems in school environments, it is another thing to be able to reach solutions. In this context, the research draws attention to the fact that education produces solutions together with all stakeholders and follows the solution processes in order to improve the academic success of students in secondary education and to ensure their socialization. At the same time, it reveals the need to carry out preventive activities and develop necessary policies to solve the biopsychosocial and spiritual problems encountered in schools. Meeting this need reveals the importance of school social work at the point of ensuring and maintaining child welfare.
The main purpose of this research is to determine the perceptions of administrators, teachers and guidance teachers about the concept of social work. The study group of the research consists of 10 administrators, 10 teachers and 10 guidance teachers working in public secondary education in the 2019-2020 academic year through case sampling. The interview method was used in the qualitative research process in order to examine further and to reach a rich variety of information in the research. Qualitative data were collected with a semi-structured interview form, and Nvivo 12 program was used in the analysis. Descriptive and content analysis techniques were used in the analysis of qualitative data. As a result of the analyzes, it was found that the knowledge of the administrators, teachers and guidance teachers about the social work profession was insufficient, however, their views on social work were positive and the need for school social work was at a "high" level. In the light of the results of the research on the general philosophy of the working perspective that will ensure continuous improvement and development, it is recommended to establish school social work units in secondary education institutions and to employ social workers in these units immediately in order to make school social work functional.
