Alkarisi is a female spirit design that is thought to harm the child and mother, especially within the first forty days after birth; and Albasmasi is seen as a disturbance believed to have come into being due to the puerperium and baby infestation, and modern medicine calls this disturbance the puerperium fever. In this study, it was aimed to carry out an examination and evaluation on the various aspects of the practices and narratives developed on the Alkarisi and Albasmasi belief in Sivas. The folkloric data of the province of Sivas is based on a field research with 114 people, the majority being women, between the years 2014-2017.
