Abstract:

The power gap in Central Asia after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the strategic importance of the region have prepared the ground for the outer forces to turn it into a competitive area. In Central Asia, Russia, China and the United States, as well as India and Pakistan, which has now become a regional power, stand out as important actors. India and Pakistan have become part of the energy games in the region since they have joined the countries in need of energy in parallel with their growing population and economic development. This study will focus on the energy policies of India and Pakistan in the context of economic relations with the countries of Central Asia. In this context, the economic relations which the countries concerned have developed with Central Asia will be placed on the table and the possibilities of cooperation will be discussed within the framework of the TAPI project.
