Abstract:

The culture of eating and drinking has not only been a matter of satiating the stomach, but also a treasure trove of valuable information about the identity of societies. This treasury contains a lot of data from the economy, geography and human relations to traditions and customs. The Abbasid state, founded in a geography that can be called extremely perfect, began to undergo an all-out socio-cultural change from the first moment. The financial opportunities provided by the taxes after the conquest affected the welfare level of the entire segment from the bureaucracy class to the public, all of which led to innovations in lifestyle. There is no doubt that food and beverage culture has taken more than its share of this situation. In this research, the food and beverage culture of the Abbasid state in the years 750-833 will be discussed within the framework of the affected issues. This study will continue after the general information about the food and beverage culture and table manners of the Abbasid state through detailed information about the food and beverage culture. The findings about food and beverages reached during this period of the Abbasid were classified as eating and drinking culture, main dishes, soups, desserts, drinks.
