Erzurum Arkeoloji Müzesi’nde bulunan toplam on adet madeni haç bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Eserlerden altısı Erzurum İli Hınıs İlçesi Parmaksız Köyü’nde yer alan Aşağı Parmaksız höyüğü çevresinde bulunmuş üçü satın alınarak biri ise Erzurum Kalesi 2008 yılı kazılarında yapılan sondaj çalışmalarında ortaya çıkarılarak müzeye getirilmiştir. Erzurum Arkeoloji Müzesinden alınan izin ile eserler yerinde görülmüş, ölçüleri alınarak resimleri çekilmiştir. Giriş bölümünde haç kavramı ve haçın Hristiyan teolojisindeki yeri ve önemi ele alınmış, bilgisayar ortamında çizimleri yapılan eserler katalog bölümünde tanıtılmıştır. Değerlendirme bölümünde çeşitli koleksiyonlara ait, arkeolojik kazılarda ortaya çıkarılan veya türlü şekillerde müzelerin envanterlerine kaydedilen ve akademik çalışmalara da konu olan benzer örneklerle mukayese yapılarak tarihlendirme önerisi sunulmuştur. Yapılan karşılaştırma ve değerlendirme sonucunda ele alınan eserlerin, tarihlendirilmesi yapılamayan bir eser haricinde, 6-13. yüzyıllar arasına ait Bizans dönemi haçları oldukları sonucuna varılmıştır.
