Bu araştırmada, üniversite öğrencilerinin romantik ilişkilerde gelecek zaman yönelimine yani, kalıcı ya da geçici ilişkiler arama düzeylerine; romantik yakınlığı başlatma belirleyicileri ile romantik ilişki inançlarının ve cinsiyet ile romantik ilişki durumu gibi bazı kişisel değişkenlerin etkisini incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, bir kamu üniversitesinde öğrenim gören 193’ü kadın, 176’sı erkek olmak üzere toplam 368 lisans öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Bu araştırmada Kişisel Bilgi Formunun yanı sıra, Romantik İlişkilerde Gelecek Zaman Yönelimi Ölçeği, Romantik Yakınlığı Başlatmanın Belirleyicileri Ölçeği ve Romantik İnançlar Ölçeği olmak üzere toplam üç ölçüm aracı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analiz edilmesi amacıyla korelasyon ve çoklu regresyon analizi yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre romantik yakınlığı başlatmanın belirleyicilerinden kendilik bilgisi, davranışsal yakınlık, romantik sözelleştirmenin ve romantik ilişki inançlarından ilk ve tek inancının, kişisel değişkenlerden ise cinsiyet ve güncel ilişki durumunun üniversite öğrencilerinin romantik ilişkilerde gelecek zaman yönelimini anlamlı düzeyde yordadığı belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, alanyazın temelinde tartışılmış ve ardından alandaki çeşitli uygulamalara ve gelecek çalışmalara yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.
This study aims to study the future time orientation of college students in romantic relationships, i.e. to the search levels of permanent or temporary relationships; the influence of some personal variables, such as the start-up determiners of romantic proximity and the beliefs of romantic relationships and the status of sex and romantic relationships. The sample of the study consists of a total of 368 bachelor students, including 193 women and 176 men, who studied at a public university. In addition to the Personal Information Form, this study used a total of three measurement tools, including the scale of the future time orientation in romantic relationships, the scale of the indicators of the start of the romantic proximity and the scale of the romantic beliefs. Correlation and multiple regression analysis methods have been used to analyze the research data. According to the research findings, from the determinants of the start of romantic proximity, self-knowledge, behavioral proximity, romantic vocalization and the first and only beliefs of romantic relationships, and from the personal variables, gender and current relationship status have determined that university students in romantic relationships will be significantly influenced by the future orientation of time. The findings obtained were discussed on the basis of the field and subsequently recommendations for the various practices and future studies in the field were presented.
