İnsanlık tarihinin en eski yerleşim havzalarının başında gelen Ortadoğu, tarihin her döneminde önemini korumuş, her dönemin en hareketli coğrafyalarının başında gelmiştir. Eski uygarlıklar döneminde konumu, iklim ve toprak şartları bakımından taşıdığı değere bağlı olarak ilgi çeken Ortadoğu, yakın geçmişte ise tarihi ipek ve baharat yolları üzerinde yer almasıyla adeta doğu ile batı arasında bağlantıyı sağlayan bir medeniyet köprüsü özelliği kazanmıştır (Şahin ve Çoban, 2018). Araştırma öğretmenlerin Türkiye’nin Ortadoğu politikalarına ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenoloji kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında Türkiye’nin faklı bölgelerinde görev yapmakta olan farklı branşlardan 14 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak ise görüşme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veriler standartlaştırılmış açık uçlu görüşme yöntemi kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, öğretmenlerin Ortadoğu denildiğinde en çok Suriye-Irak-İran ülkelerini ifade ettikleri, Ortadoğu’nun en güçlü ülkesi olarak Türkiye ve İsrail’i gördükleri, bölgedeki savaşların en önemli sebebinin petrol olduğu, Türkiye’nin sınır güvenliğini korumak amacıyla hareket ettiği, uygulanan politikaların askeri ve ekonomik kayıplara sebep olduğu ve Ortadoğu’nun geleceğine yönelik endişe duydukları şeklinde bulgulara ulaşılmıştır.
The Middle East, which was at the forefront of the oldest settlements in human history, has retained its importance in every era of history, has come at the forefront of the most moving geographics of every era. In the period of ancient civilizations, the Middle East, which attracted interest depending on its location, climate and land conditions, has gained the characteristic of a civilization bridge that provides the connection between the east and the west with its historical silk and spices (Shahin and Çoban, 2018). The research was done using phenomenology from quality research methods in order to determine the views of teachers on the Middle East policies of Turkey. The research work group consists of 14 teachers from different branches working in the faculties of Turkey in the 2019-2020 educational year. In the study, the method of communication was used as a data collection tool. The data is collected using a standardized open-end conversation method. The study found that teachers most expressed the countries of Syria-Irak-Iran when it is called the Middle East, they see Turkey and Israel as the strongest country in the Middle East, the main cause of the wars in the region is oil, the Turkey is acting to protect the security of the border, the implemented policies are causing military and economic losses, and they are concerned about the future of the Middle East.
