Abstract:

Scientific and technological developments after the 1970s have significantly affected the education system. The strengthening of the global information network called the Internet and its spread have changed the form of communication in the world and have made it possible to provide written, oral, visual connection in seconds. Communication technologies are developing very rapidly today. One of the important areas that these developments affect is learning. Communication technologies in the learning process contribute in many ways to traditional educational systems and provide lifelong learning. Learning is a process that begins with life and continues without boundaries until death. Communication technologies have brought learning out the classical school boundaries and provided the possibilities for individuals to educate themselves. Remote education, launched by the Open Education Faculty in Turkey by mail and television, is now performed in many universities fully via the internet, web-based way.
