Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the impact of portfolio assessment on statistical success. The study was conducted in two separate classes with the participation of 7th-class students who are studying in a secondary school located in Istanbul or Fatih district. The study used a semi-experimental pattern and studied with a total of 64 students, including 32 in the experimental group, 32 in the control group. The statistical success of students in the experiment and control group was measured by the researchers in the content of the data analysis unit by the statistical success test (IBT), and the exchange between estest points was studied by keeping the pre-test and gender variables under control. The application has been carried out for 6 weeks. During the application, the data analysis unit was processed using portfolio assessment in the control group according to the existing curriculum and in the experiment group in addition to the existing curriculum. The analysis of the obtained data used the T-Test of Related Examples, the T-Test of Non-Related Examples, and the Double-Factor Covaryance Analysis. The results of the study showed that the portfolio assessment used teaching significantly affects the statistical success of the experimental group.
