Osmanlı Devleti’nin en güçlü olduğu Kanûnî döneminde Balıkesir’de doğan Birgivî, ilk eğitimini babası Pir Alî’den tahsil ettikten sonra İstanbul’a giderek Ahîzâde Mehmed Efendi (ö. 974/1563-4) ve Kızıl Molla lakabıyla tanınan Kazasker Abdurrahmân Efendi’nin de (ö. 983/1575) aralarında bulunduğu ulemadan istifade etmiştir. O, kısa süren memurluk hayatının ardından Birgi’ye dönmüş ve burada eğitim-öğretim çalışmalarına başlamıştır. Problem gördüğü herhangi bir noktada sözünü esirgemeyen ve hangi makama sahip olursa olsun kişileri eleştirebilen Birgivî, hadis, Arapça, fıkıh gibi ilimlerde eserler yazmıştır. Bunlar arasında insanları ibadet noktasında bidʻatlerden uzak tutmak ve onları Kur’an ve Sünnet’e çağırmak amacıyla yazdığı Şerhu’l-ehâdîsi’l-erbaʻîn isimli çalışmasının özel bir önemi bulunmaktadır. Eserin herhangi bir medresede okunduğuna dair kaynaklarda bir bilgi verilmemekle birlikte, onun Birgivî tarafından talebelerine okutulduğu söylenebilir. Bu çalışmada eserin hadis şerh metodu tahlil edilmiştir. Şârih tarafından eserdeki her bir hadis rivâyet, lügat, iʻrâb, belâgat, şerh, tefrîʻ, suâl ve fâide noktasından değerlendirilmiş ve izah edilmiştir. Kitap incelendiğinde yapılan izahlarda kitabın fıkhî yönünün ağır bastığı görülecektir. Bahis konusu olan esere Birgivî tarafından başlanılmış ancak eser onun erken vefatı sebebiyle tamamlanamamıştır. Geri kalan otuz üç hadis ise Akkirmânî tarafından şerh edilmiştir.
Birgivî, who was born in Fiskesir in the Kanûnî period, the strongest of the Ottoman State, after his first education from his father, Pir Ali, went to Istanbul and went to Ahîzâde Mehmed Efendi. 974/1563-4) and the Kazasker Abdurrahmân Efendi, known as the Red Molla, 983/1575) is the one who has made it. He returned to Birgi after a short office life and began his educational work here. Although there is no information in the sources that the work was read in any medium, it can be said that it was read by Birgivî to his requests. In this study, the work has been tested by the Haddad Sherh method. Birgewī, who was born in Balikesir during the time of Kanūnī, the most powerful of the Ottoman Empire, went to Istanbul after he had collected his first education from his father Pir Alī, and studied from scholar including Ahīzāde Mehmed Efendi (d. 974/1563-4) and Kazasker Abdurrahman Efendi, known for his nickname as the Red Molla (d. 983/1575). He started his educational studies at Birgi after his short life in civil service. Birgevī, who does not refrain from any point in the problem, has been able to criticize the person who has the authority.
