İmparatorluk düzeninin ardından ulus devletleşme sürecini başlatan yeni devlet, toplumun her kesiminde köklü bir değişim arzu etmekteydi. Toplumsal değişimin birincil kanalını oluşturan eğitim ise yeni ulus devletin en önemli aracıydı. Yeni nesillerin yeni tip eğitimle ve yeni değerlerle bütünleştirilmesi isteği kadın ve erkek kimliklerinin toplumsal rolleri üzerine inşa edilmişti. Aile, toplum ve devlet üçgeni içerisinde eğitimli ve yeni ulus devlet değerleri ile harmanlanmış kültür çerçevesi bilhassa mesleki eğitim düzeninde devreye sokulmuştu. Sanat enstitüleri bu amaçlar doğrultusunda açılmış, kadın ve erkek kimlikleri burada verilen eğitimle toplumsal değişim ve kalkınmanın birincil özneleri haline getirilmiştir. Maraş Erkek ve Kız Sanat Enstitüleri de belirtilen amaçlar doğrultusunda faaliyete geçirilen ve değişimin öncüsü olan eğitim merkezleri olarak dikkat çekmekteydi. Çalışmada cumhuriyetin modernleşme ve toplumsal değişim öngörüsünü yürürlüğe koyduğu bu enstitülerdeki öğrenci ve öğretmen profilleri, ders müfredatları ve halkın enstitülere olan ilgisi incelenmektedir. Bu bağlamda kadını temsil eden dişil değerler ile erkeği temsil eden eril değerlerin toplumsal değişim amacına yönelik aktarımı temel hareket noktasını oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma, Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında kadını eğitimli ev kadınları olarak görmek isteyen düzenin yerini, kadını hizmet ve sanayi sektörünün gelişimine paralel olarak iş hayatında da görmeyi isteyen bir düşünceye bıraktığı ve bu değişimin toplumun temel dinamiklerinde de bir değişim başlattığı fikrindedir.
The new state, which began the process of nationalization after the empire system, wanted a radical change in every part of society. Education, which formed the primary channel of social change, was the most important instrument of the new nation state. The desire for the new generations to be integrated with new kinds of education and new values was built on the social roles of female and male identities. The cultural framework, educated within the family, society and state triangle and combined with the state values of the new nation, was implemented in the professional education system. The art institutions opened in accordance with these objectives, women and men’s identities have become the primary subjects of social change and development with the education given here. The Maraş Men and Girls Art Institutes also attracted attention as educational centers that were operated in accordance with the specified objectives and the pioneer of change. The study examines the students and teachers’ profiles, curricula and public interest in the institutions in these institutions where the republic puts the modernization and social change forecast into force. In this context, the transmission of female values representing the woman and the merely values representing the man towards the purpose of social change constitutes the main point of movement. The study is in the idea that in the early years of the Republic, the order that wants to see the woman as educated household women has left the woman to a thought that wants to see the woman in the business as parallel to the development of the service and industrial sector, and that this change has initiated a change in the fundamental dynamics of society.
