Abstract:

The emergence of nationalism as an ideology that affects all world communities in the West has followed a parallel journey to the process of the emergence of national states. Nationalism has been influential in the formation of the political, cultural and social structures of today’s societies. Different theories, different perspectives have been developed to explain the development of nationalism and its impact on societies. From the theoretical approaches revealed to the declaration of nationalism, the modern nationalist theory has seen nationalism as a modern fact. The theory recognizes that political, economic and social changes that arise with modernization are the fundamental dynamics of the emergence of nationalism. In the ethno-sembolic approach, which is another theory for the disclosure of nationality, it is a lack of understanding of the acceptance of the process of modernization as the starting point of nationality, and instead it is a sense of the association of nationality with the ethnicity of the pre-modern era or the common consciousness of origin. Since the moment of nationalism appeared, it has become an important form of membership in the construction and continuation of peoples, acquiring different forms along with modernity (national socialism, fascism, radical democracy, micro-nationalism, etc.). Protecting its existence. One of the new forms of nationalism in modern times is micro-nationalism. Micro-nationalism covers concepts based on the creation of the perception of belonging to "we" by rejecting the concept of "national we" which the ruling culture is based on its own common values, such as history, culture or ethnic group consciousness. This article provides a detailed assessment of modern and ethno-symbolic nationalist theories on the emergence and development of micro-nationalism, and provides assessments based on the theoretical comparisons on the context in which micro-nationalism is addressed.
