Bu makalede, Ârif Çelebi’nin (ö. 1320) seyahatleri ekseninde önce onun Batı Anadolu beylikleriyle (Menteşeoğulları, Germiyanoğulları, Karamanoğulları vb.) kurduğu münasebetler masaya yatırılacak, daha sonra da bazı Anadolu şehirlerinde (Karaman, Akşehir, Denizli vb.) mevlevihanelerin kurulmasıyla alakalı değerlendirmeler yapılacaktır. Bu kapsamda Ârif Çelebi dönemi Mevlevî halifelerine de değinilecektir. Ârif Çelebi, devlet yöneticileri ile geliştirdiği yakın ilişkiler sayesinde Mevlânâ Türbesi’ne vakıflar sağlayan, bazı şehirlere halifeler gönderip mevlevihaneler açtıran, bir yandan da usul ve esaslarını belirlemek suretiyle Mevlevîliğin tarikat hüviyeti kazanmasını sağlayan Sultan Veled’in (ö. 1312) oğlu ve halefidir. Babasının izinden giderek Mevlevîliğin geniş kitlelere ulaşmasında önemli roller üstlenen Ârif Çelebi, ömrünün mühim bir kısmını tarikatını yaymak amacıyla babası henüz hayatta iken başladığı seyahatlerle geçirmiş bu vesileyle yoğun bir ilişkiler ağı geliştirmiştir. Bu ilişkilerin hem tasavvufi hem de siyasi yönü vardır. Zira Mevlevîler, özellikle Sultan Veled ve Ârif Çelebi döneminde, açıkça Moğol yanlısı bir politika izlemişler, manevi nüfuzları sayesinde İlhanlıların Anadolu’daki meşruiyetlerini sağlamalarına ve sürdürmelerine ortam hazırlamışlardır. Ârif Çelebi, bu kapsamda özellikle yeni kurulmakta olan Batı Anadolu beyliklerinin başkentlerini dolaşmış, buralardaki mahalli emirlerle olumlu ilişkiler geliştirmiş, onları İlhanlılara itaate davet etmiş diğer taraftan da halifeler görevlendirmek ve mevlevihaneler açtırmak suretiyle öğretilerini yaymaya çalışmıştır. Bu çerçevede Ârif Çelebi’nin İlhanlı yöneticileriyle kurduğu ilişkilerle, Batı Anadolu beyleriyle kurduğu ilişkiler arasında ortak bir nokta olduğunu görüyoruz. Ârif Çelebi’nin seyahatlerinin pek çoğunda onun maiyetinde bulunan Şemseddin Ahmed Eflâkî’nin (ö. 1360) Menâkıbü’l-Ârifîn’i üzerinde yaptığımız analizler neticesinde, Mevlevîlerin, XIII-XIV. yüzyıllar Anadolusu’nun içinde bulunduğu siyasal ve sosyal gelişmelerle daha da artan manevi nüfuzlarını politik bir misyonda oldukça etkin bir biçimde kullandıkları sonucuna ulaşıyoruz.
