The Lady of the House of Love (Angela Carter) Başlıklı Öykünün Çevirisinde Metinlerarası Aktarım Teknikleriyle Alımlama Bağlamının İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu makalenin amacı, The Lady of the House of Love (Angela Carter) başlıklı öykünün çevirisinde metinlerarası “aktarım teknikleri” aracılığıyla erek metinde “alımlama bağlamını” incelemeye çalışmaktır. Öyküde “Uyuyan Güzel” masalına metinlerarası göndermeler yer almaktadır. Masal erek kültürde iyi bilindiği için bu öykü çevirisinin incelenmesi araştırma konusu olarak ele alınacaktır. Lawrence Venuti (2009) çevirilerde metinlerarasılığın anıştırma, parodi ve alıntı gibi “aktarım teknikleriyle” kurulduğunu ve metinlerarasılığın çevirisinde kaynak metinde yer alan bütün bağlamların erek metinde oluşturulamayacağını öne sürmüştür. Bu bağlamlar, diliçi bağlam, metinlerarasıve söylemlerarası bağlamlar ve son olarak metinlerarası, söylemlerarası ve göstergelerarası bağlamları içeren alımlama bağlamıdır. Venuti’nin önerdiği bu kavramlar, çalışmada bütünceden elde edilen örnekler üzerinden yorumlanacaktır. Erek metinde alımlama bağlamının kısmen veya tamamen oluştuğu ve de yeni bir alımlama bağlamının gerçekleştiği görülmektedir. Bulgulardan hareketle varılan değerlendirmeler doğrultusunda, çevirmenin kaynak metni erek dizgede yerleşik olan alımlama biçimiyle alımladığı ve erek dizgede “kabul edilebilir” bir çeviri yaptığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Çevirmenin kaynak metni alımlama biçimi, Jauss’un alımlama kuramında ele aldığı “deneyim ufku” kavramı ile açıklanacaktır. “Deneyim ufku”, okurun önceki okumalarından edindiği yazınsal birikimi kapsar. Okur, yazınsal bir metni yorumlarken erek dizgede okuduğu metinlerin etkisi altındadır.

Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to try to explore the "context of imitation" in the male text through the intertext "acting techniques" in the translation of the story titled The Lady of the House of Love (Angela Carter). The story contains intertext messages to the "Sleeping Beautiful" fairy tale. Since the story is well known in the male culture, the study of this story translation will be considered as a subject of research. In translations, Lawrence Venuti (2009) suggested that intertextism was established by "actoring techniques" such as complaint, parody and quotation, and that all the contexts in the source text in the translation of intertextism could not be created in the male text. These contexts are the conception contexts that include linguistic contexts, intertext and interverbal contexts and ultimately intertext, interverbal and interindicative contexts. These concepts proposed by Venuti will be interpreted through the examples entirely obtained in the study. It appears that the acquisition context is partially or entirely formed and that a new acquisition context occurs. According to the findings, it has been concluded that the source text of the translation is accepted in the form of acceptance that is placed in the male series and that the male series is a "acceptable" translation. The form of the source text of the translation will be explained by the concept of "experience horizon" which Jauss addressed in the theory of the absorption. "Experience horizon" covers the literary accumulation that the reader has gained from his previous readings. The reader is under the influence of the texts he has read in the man's series while interpreting a written text.

The purpose of this article is to examine the “context of reception” through intertextual “transfer techniques” in the translation of Angela Carter’s short story The Lady of the House of Love. Lawrence Venuti (2009) argues that intertextuality in translations is created by “transfer techniques” such as allusion, parody and quotation and that all contexts in the source text cannot be formed in the target text. These contexts are the intralingual context, the intertextualand the interdiscursive contexts, and finally the context of reception, which includes the intertextual, interdiscursive, and intersemiotic contexts. It is seen that the context of reception is partially or completely formed in the target text, and a new context of reception is realized. In line with the evaluations made from the findings, it is concluded that the translator received the source text with the form of reception in the target system and made an “acceptable translation.” The way the translator perceives the source text will be explained by the concept of “horizon of experience,” which Jauss presented in his theory of reception. The “horizon of experience” includes the literary knowledge acquired by the reader from his/ her previous readings.
