Abstract:

Turkish-Islamic literature is a group that incorporates the phenomenon of religion and uses it as the main material. Almost all poets and writers who were a part of it preferred religious elements as the main source while creating their works. It is seen that the predominant subject in the works of these literary products is religious elements in almost every century. One of these works, which was written with the focus on the religion of Islam and for a specific purpose, is the Masnavi “Hayriyye” by Nabi, who is one of the 17th century divan poets. Nabi’s wise words, who was the pioneer of the Hikemi style, emerged as advice to his son in this Masnavi. It is seen that the main elements of this work, written by a father for guidance, are within the framework of the Islamic religion. This Masnavi by Nabi is an enlightening guide in the recognition of the society of the period and in the understanding of education given to Muslim youth through his son. It was written through the direct that the poet wanted to present. Religious works and elements, especially the Qur'an, became a source for this work, which is in the category of religious-mystical Masnavi. In this study, the way the poet included these sources in his work was determined and the religious elements that make up the content of the Masnavi were examined in detail.
