Abstract:

Researches conducted at the graduate level constitute a scientific basis for countries to determine and develop their education policies. In this research, it is aimed to examine the master's and doctoral theses, which were evaluated by using the CIPP model, which is a model that serves to make both formative and summative decisions on the programs, by using descriptive content analysis method. 79 graduate thesis studies conducted between 2007-2022, which were accessed through the YÖKTEZ database, were analyzed using the thesis review form developed in line with the research questions. It has been determined that programs from different types and levels such as medical education, military education, police education, school and university education programs are evaluated in the studies. According to the findings, it was concluded that the thesis studies are mostly at the master's level, higher education programs are mostly evaluated using the CIPP model, while the mixed method is the most preferred method, semi-structured interviews stand out among the data collection tools. It has been concluded that the tendencies of the curriculum evaluation studies using the CIPP model are mostly towards higher education programs, and there is a need for studies that evaluate the education programs at different levels in different contexts as a basis for curriculum development studies.
