MERCOSUR, yüksek nüfusu, büyük yüz ölçümü ve sahip olduğu doğal zenginlikler ile dünya ticaretinde önemli bir potansiyele sahip olan ekonomik bir gruptur. Bu nedenle, gelecekte dünya ticaretinden alacağı payın artması beklenmektedir. AB de dünya ticaretinden büyük ölçüde pay alan önemli bir entegrasyondur. Bu çalışmada MERCOSUR ülkeleri ile AB arasındaki dış ticaretin incelenmesi ve iki ekonomik grup arasında imzalanan ticaret anlaşmasının potansiyeli ve getirilerine dair kavramsal bir bakış açısı sunulması amaçlanmıştır. İki entegrasyon arasında uzun yıllar süren müzakereler sonucunda ticaret anlaşmasının imzalanması dikkatleri bu iki birlik arasındaki mevcut ticari ilişkilere ve anlaşmanın bu ilişkilerde yaratacağı etkiler üzerine çekmiştir. Yapılan çalışma mevcut ticari ilişkileri ortaya koymak ve yapılan ticaret anlaşması sonrasında bu ilişkilerde yaşanabilecek değişiklikleri incelemek adına önem taşımaktadır. Çalışmada, 2009-2018 yılları arasındaki istatistiksel veriler üzerinden iki birlik arasındaki ticari ilişkiler incelenmiş ve yapılan ticaret anlaşmasının MERCOSUR-AB üzerinde yaratabileceği olası etkiler ortaya konulmuştur.
MERCOSUR is an economic group with a high population, large size and natural wealth that it possesses with a significant potential in world trade. Therefore, it is expected that the share of the world trade will increase in the future. The EU is also an important integration that has a large part of the world trade. The study aims to study the foreign trade between the MERCOSUR countries and the EU and to provide a conceptual perspective on the potential and revenue of the trade agreement signed between the two economic groups. As a result of many years of negotiations between the two integrations, the signing of the trade agreement has attracted attention to the existing trade relations between the two unions and the effects that the agreement will create in these relations. The study is of importance to reveal the existing trade relationships and to examine the changes that may occur in these relationships after the trade agreement. The study examined the trade relations between the two units through statistical data between 2009 and 2018 and revealed the possible effects the trade agreement could have on MERCOSUR-EU.
